Olly Edwards ( St Marys ) v Maris Bauges ( Hastings ).
In only his 3rd bout, and with growing support, Ollie quickly settled into the fight, working off his jab he opened up his southpaw opponents defense allowing him to land some quality backhands, and very clean body punches.
In the second round, Ollie upped his work rate, boxing with controlled aggression landing fierce combinations forcing the referee give the Hastings boxer a standing count. After the count Ollie continued with the classy boxing but proved to strong,forcing a second count and for the referee to stop the contest.
St Mary's have boys five in the semi finals of the Redditch schools box cup, which Is taking part on 9th June. The event is supporting the childline charity.
