Birch makes it 2-1

15 year old Jacey Birch travelled to the jnr ABA champ Morgan Ansell's home show to box her in a rubber match. Having boxed each other twice and sparred on England squad training, the two girls knew what to expect. As expected, it was close again but Birch did just enough to impress the judges in front of a partisan crowd to be awarded a points decision. Birch now leads their series 2-1, winning their last two encounters. 13 year old Luke Carter was making his debut against another home boxer. According to coach Dan Woledge senior, Carter performed well but was just edged out on points. Carter was back training on Monday, willing to work on things and improve in the new year.
