St Mary’s at boxing stables home show 14/12/2019

Date: Sun 15th December 2019

First up was Conner 

Connor whitehouse (Stmarys) vs Andy james (bodyshots) 
1st round, both boxers come out boxing well using the jab and keeping the distance well with Connor edging the first round.
2nd round, was a good round for james both landing good shots but james taking the round.
3rd round Connor boxed very well using his straight shots and using he’s feet to come in and out of range when scoring and taking the 3rd round and getting the win on a split decision
Next up was Ellis hartnup 
 
Ellis hartnup  v  k.hammond from turners abc 
Ellis came out strong on his first round doubling up his attack with good combination and pushing his opponent back onto  his back foot 
Second round both boxers came out strong but Hammond was just catching Ellis with the rear hand uppercut and cleaner shot 
Third round both boxer gave it there all once again Hammond was just catching ellis with rear hand long range uppercut as Ellis hand were dropping
Unfortunately Ellis lost on a unanimous decision but will make a great rematch in the future
 
 
 Last up was Reggie
 

 

St mary’s Reggie Gardner was in action against josh ley GNG at boxing stables show at 75kg. 
Coming off the back of two close defeats Gardner soon settled into round 1 establishing his jab and catching his opponent with good 3 punch combinations. 
Ley came out swinging in the second and had Gardner on the back foot who had to use all his defensive know how to stay away from Ley’s attacks. 
Gardener had the best of the exchanges in round 3 and the judges awarded a unanimous win in a very close bout.
