At Harlequins Rugby club , was the NABGC Southern counties finals.
St mary’s Alfie Blackman won the Class A under 52kgs title with a points win over D. Rowles (Chichester ABC). Blackman used his superior height and reach to outbox his strong opponent for a points win. Luke Carter was in action in u54kg Nabgcs southern counties semi final against Connor o Sullivan (westree). After a tight close first round carter lost the second then came on strong to win the third. Next in for St Marys was Robert Caswell, who  was boxing Louis Small from Fareham ABC. Caswell started the 1st round very well at range scoring clean shots to the head & body. During the 2nd, Small stepped up his pressure & Got himself back into the bout. The 3rd round was very scrappy with a lot of holding & wrestling. Caswell was very unlucky to lose out on a split decision which could easily have gone his way. Karol Itauma boxed Luke McWhinnie Southampton ABC. Itauma started the 1st round scoring very cleanly finding his range early. 2nd round was more of the same & the action heated up with McWhinnie trying to get a foothold in the bout. Karol was deducted a point for a head butt, which was just a mere clash of heads. 3rd round saw Itauma go through his gears & hand a standing 8 count to his game opponent. Itauma won a unanimous decision booking himself into the regional finals next week, along with Blackman and Mc Donough.
