NABGC 2019 South East Regional Finals

St Marys had 3 boxers in the South East regional finals of the NABCG championships.
Brooklyn Mc Donagh won his south east regional final at Dagenham last Sunday 10th. Up against J. Thurston (Albion ABC, Cambridge), Mc Donagh used superior skill and speed to beat the Easter counties champion on points over 3 rounds. Unfortunately, Alfie Blackman lost on points to J. Crabb (Pound Lane, Essex). Blackman boxed well, but was outworked by his strong , southpaw opponent over 3 rounds and lost on points.
Last bout of the day was the 3rd StMarys boxer in action was 18 year old Karol Itauma, who boxed Joe Giles from Billericay & Wickford Boxing Club in the regional final.Karol dominated from the start with his quick punching switching attack to the head & body. Karol increased his work rate as the bout drew on seeing him come out on top a worthy winner with a unanimous devision. Now moving himself into the national quarter finals.
