MIllsy through to England Youth National 1/4 finals.

Final winner Lee Mills presented with his winners certificate by Aaron Pritchard of the Southern Counties ABA.

 

Repersenting St Marys In the 2014 England Boxing Youth Championships, Southern Counties Class A Final at 60kgs was Lee Mills Vs Alex Miller City of Portsmouth ABC.

With the winner going through to a place in the National 1/4 finals, the stakes where high.

At the first bell, both boxers where quick to meet in the centre of the ring with the aggressive come foreward style of Miller being meet with fast and accurate shots from Mills. Although Miller was boxing behind a tight guard, the hand speed of Mills was quick to explote any weakness, with success from two and three punch combinations to head and body.

After the break from the first round, and to instruction Gillingham boxer Mills stepped up his workrate, and put in a perfect performance landing telling blows, pushing his opponent back and landing with a variety of shots from all angles to head and body. Such was the accuracy a small cut was opened on the cheek of MIller.

At the start of the last round Miller took the fight to Mills, but was meet with heated exchanges at both long and short range with crisp combinations flowing throughout the round. The fitness of the Medway boxer was never in doubt, and the effort in training throughout the Christmas period by Mills was clear in the way such a high workrate was maintained throughout the contests 9 minutes of action.

At the final bell, Lee was awarded a unanamous desision by the three ringside judges and a place in this years National 1/4 finals.
