Kent vs Scotland select in Dumfries on 18/05/2013.
St Marys abc had boxers selected to represent Kent.
Dan Woledge, last years 71kg class 6 junior ABA champion, and currently on the England development squad, boxed 19 year old Ian Trotter from East Lothian.Trotter is the Scottish ABA inter senior champion.
Dan started really well and quickly took control,boxing on the front foot pressurising his opponent and looking very comfortable.As the bell went for the end of the round,Dan landed a firm body shot which hurt the Scottish boxer. Dan came out for the second and quickly settled into his rhythm continuing with the pressure, he saw a weakness in the Scottish boxer’s defence and exploited it by catching him with lead hand uppercuts and screw shots. In the 3rd it was pretty much the same story with Dan boxing on the front foot staying on top until the last Bell. It was a solid overall performance that he won with a unanimous point’s decision.
Levi Lewis, this years minor champion, and currently undefeated was left disappointed as his bout fell through, however is looking very strong, and will be one to follow for the future.
