19 Year old St Marys boxer Karol Itauma was due to travel to Manchester for his NABCG National under 21 final on Sunday Dec 1st. Unfortunately, his opponent pulled out 2 days before. However, as he had boxed and won twice in the competition, he still qualifies as the National champion, for the 8th time. It seems he was a victim of his own success. as his opponents coaches must have heard his impressive and withdrawn their boxer, due to lack of experience. This is frustrating, as it is an open class competition, so they would have known they could have come up against experienced opponents.  Itauma was left frustrated, but it outlines his reputation in Boxing circles.
