Triumphant Rob Caswell at Fairbairn show.

St Marys coaches, Dave & Matt Bowler had boxers from there respective junior and senior groups  in action on Friday 7th February at the Fairbairn ABC show.

First up in a under 33kg bout was  Robert Caswell vs Saif Akmel Fairbairn ABC.

With a good away crowd supporting him, Robert was quick to showcase his boxing skills. From the first bell it was clear that the home boxer had come to impress the supporting  crowd with his aggressive come forward style.

Ever cool Caswell stuck to his boxing skills, despite having to deal with constant fouling, maintaining his style and composure with success at both long and short range which further frustrated his opponent.

A point deduction to the fairbairn boxer only further cemented the outcome, a points victory for Robert.

The win now takes him to four wins in five bouts, and fills him with confidence for this months National Schoolboy Championships.

Next up Senior boxer Dominic Mulcahey was faced with Jack Hughes from Patricks Boxing Club Ipswich in a under 63kg bout.

Dominic was quick to settle into the first round, pacing himself behind a solid jab, picking off attacks from his opponent who was intent on a fast pace, but was met with accurate counters and combinations.

In the second round, Dominic advanced to his opponent, landing solid shots, and good movement to avoid getting tagged, whilst landing the better work.

The third saw Dominic emerge strongly for a unanimous win. Coach Matt Bowler commented on a fantastic performance from  one of his stables hardest workers.
